Kedarnath Dham is one of the holy twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Set at an altitude of 3580 m, in Uttarakhand, this pilgrimage site holds immense religious importance for Hindus. Every year devotees from all over the world undertake the yatra. The yatra usually takes place from April to November, when the temple is open to pilgrims.

The trek to Kedarnath temple is a 16-kilometer uphill climb from the base camp at Gaurikund. The trek is considered challenging and requires good physical fitness. However, there are options for ponies, palanquins, and helicopters that can help ease the journey for those who cannot make the trek on foot.

The temple, surrounded by snow-covered mountains, is open for darshan for a few hours every day. The atmosphere at the temple is charged with devotion and spirituality. Many pilgrims also visit neighboring shrines like Triyugi Narayan and Guptkashi during the yatra.

The Kedarnath Yatra holds immense significance for Hindus, who believe that a pilgrimage to this shrine will help them attain moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death). The yatra also provides an opportunity to witness the beauty of the Himalayas and experience the serene nature of this region.
